The ‘Midnight Black’ and ‘Cosmic Red’ color covers will go on sale via the PlayStation Direct early access program in the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany on January 21, and through other retailers on February 18. While the color options ‘Nova Pink’, ‘Galactic Purple’, and ‘Starlight Blue’ will be available in mid-2022.
This cover retails for USD 54.99 (Rp 788 thousand) and is currently only available as an add-on that must be purchased separately. To replace the PS5 cover, Sony says users can simply remove the attached white cover and click the new cover in its place.
In addition to the colorful covers, Sony has also released a new DualSense controller for the PS5 in blue, pink, and purple color options. This colorful controller will complement the black and red DualSense controller already sold by Sony.

Sony announced a new console cover for the PS5 just weeks after patenting this product. Previously, the Japanese tech giant was involved in legal issues with a third-party company that sold faceplates for the PS5 .
Not long after Sony launched the PS5, companies like DBrand offered black covers called Dark plates. After getting a cease-and-desist letter from Sony, DBrand stopped selling Darkplates before finally releasing a new design and mocking Sony’s lawyers.
